Appearance and screen saver¶

Settings → Atmosphere cycles themes, scenes, speech (Off / Occasional / Chatty) and the patrol panel (Detailed / Compact). Tap Preview on Hound to return home. Petting triggers alternating replies and happy/head-tilt poses; the sleeping dog and important scanning/alert status remain visible with speech off. Settings → More: Display → Animation: Reduced freezes scene movement and dog animation. Real-device appearance is saved; demo appearance has its own temporary copy and cannot alter saved preferences. Reset progress keeps appearance choices.

Idle display¶

Bouncing hound screen saver: selected dog and outfit follow a DVD-style diagonal bounce on black. Defaults: dim after 2 idle minutes, saver after 5, display/backlight off after 15. Each timeout supports Never or 1/2/5/10/15/30/60 minutes. Travel Watch always blocks screen-off. Touch/BOOT reset the idle timer; ordinary alerts briefly wake the display for up to 5 seconds, at most once every 30 seconds, without resetting that timer. Active following warnings stay visible. Sniffing/logging continue throughout.

Open Settings → Display → Display options → Screen saver / Timeouts to change the three timeouts independently. The first waking touch wakes the display without also activating a control. Idle display behavior does not stop scanning or card logging.

Landscape and panel colors¶

The default is 480 × 320 landscape. Unlock rotation in Settings to switch manually to 320 × 480 portrait, then lock the orientation again. The board has no orientation sensor.

The tested Hosyond panel uses Panel inversion: Off. If colors are reversed, use the display settings; theme changes and LCD color polarity are separate settings.
